Bakery ASEAN 2026 — On-Site Event Preview
Bakery ASEAN 2026 will be held from August 27 to 29, 2026 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) in Indonesia. Co-organized by the China Association of Bakery & Confectionery Industry and Bakery China Exhibitions Co., Ltd. , the exhibition brings together leading enterprises from across the global bakery supply chain.
Alongside the exhibits, the show will feature a rich lineup of high-impact concurrent events — combining business matchmaking, technical exchange, professional competitions, knowledge sharing, and high-level networking into an all-in-one industry ecosystem for trade, learning, collaboration, and growth.
I. OPENING CEREMONY
The opening ceremony will welcome distinguished guests from relevant government bodies and industry organizations in both China and Indonesia, along with bakery professionals from across the region, to mark the official launch of Bakery ASEAN 2026.
II. PROFESSIONAL COMPETITIONS
World champions, Michelin-starred chefs, and international baking masters from China, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and beyond will deliver live demonstrations and hands-on technical workshops, sharing advanced techniques in bread, pastries, desserts, specialty cakes, and creative beverages.
The program balances time-honored craftsmanship with emerging trends, covering globally inspired flavors, product innovation, standardized mass-production know-how, and in-store application. By blending baking traditions from multiple cultures, it offers a unique platform for professional bakers, R&D specialists, and brand owners to engage directly with world-class experts, sharpen their skills, and expand their creative and commercial horizons.
Organized by the Indonesia Pastry Alliance (IPA), this three-day competition celebrates the rich heritage and diversity of Indonesian baking and pastry arts. It features three main categories: local specialty pastries, regional flavor delicacies, and creative fondant cake decoration.
- Baked Heritage: Taste of Nusantara Souvenirs Competition – Contestants create innovative baked treats inspired by Indonesian native flavors, local ingredients, or folk culture, with a mandatory requirement to use at least one indigenous spice, fruit, or regional ingredient.
- Traditional Indonesian Cake Nusantara Buffet Competition – Participants build buffet-style displays featuring a variety of traditional Indonesian market snacks (Jajanan Pasar), spanning sweet and savory items, with emphasis on creativity, color harmony, and professional presentation standards.
- Dress the Cake: Tribute to the Chef (Fondant Cake Decorating Competition) – Competitors use fondant-decorated cakes to pay tribute to the passion, creativity, and craftsmanship of baking professionals.
- Indonesian Bakery Heritage Showcase – A parallel showcase presenting the historical and cultural legacy of Indonesian baking.
The first two days are open to Indonesian micro, small, and medium-sized bakery businesses, while the third day is dedicated to students from baking academies and hospitality management programs. All entries are judged by senior adjudicators appointed by the IPA (all with five-star hotel and academic teaching backgrounds). Winners receive certificates, medals, and cash prizes; all participants receive a participation certificate. Entries remain on display throughout the competition for further appreciation and peer exchange.

A professional competition for the beverage and coffee sector, this event provides a stage for Indonesian drink artisans to demonstrate their creativity and technical flair. As bakery and beverage consumption grow increasingly intertwined, crafted drinks have become a vital component of the modern bakery-café experience.
Contestants are evaluated on flavor composition, presentation, and live performance skills. Winners will earn the right to represent Indonesia in higher-level international competitions. This event also underscores the vibrant growth and potential of Southeast Asia's beverage and coffee market.
