2026 ASEAN International Bakery Exhibition (Bakery ASEAN): Uniting Global Bakery Industries in Jakarta

The 2026 ASEAN International Bakery Exhibition (Bakery ASEAN) stands as a premier trade event dedicated to the bakery and allied industries, serving both the ASEAN region and global markets. As a key international extension of Bakery China—the world’s largest professional trade platform for the bakery and confectionery sector—Bakery ASEAN 2026 is poised to drive sustained knowledge exchange and collaboration across the global bakery industry.

Scheduled to take place from August 27 to 29, 2026, at JIExpo in Jakarta, Indonesia, Bakery ASEAN 2026 will be co-located with two renowned events hosted by Reed Exhibitions Group: WePack Indonesia and Cafe Show Indonesia. Collectively, these concurrent exhibitions will span 20,000 square meters, with expectations to attract over 500 exhibitors and 50,000 professional buyers. These buyers will represent a diverse range of sectors, including distribution, import-export, manufacturing, chain stores, supermarkets, convenience stores, hotels, and cafes, hailing from ASEAN member states and beyond.

Indonesia: The Strategic Host for Bakery ASEAN 2026

Indonesia’s selection as the host nation is anchored in its strong market fundamentals, strategic positioning, and alignment with industry growth goals—here’s why it stands out:

Robust Market Demand and Vast Growth Potential

As one of Southeast Asia’s largest economies, Indonesia’s bakery industry is experiencing rapid expansion. According to data from Euromonitor International, retail sales of bakery products in Indonesia reached 58.3 trillion Indonesian rupiahs in 2023, marking a 29% year-on-year (YoY) growth and a 5% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). Looking ahead, the market is projected to maintain an 8% CAGR through 2028, with total sales expected to hit 84.4 trillion Indonesian rupiahs. Leading bakery brands such as Aoka, Dali, and Panpan have already established a local presence, a testament to the country’s untapped consumer market potential.

Leveraging Bakery China’s Global Resource Network

Bakery ASEAN 2026 benefits from the extensive global resources built by Bakery China over its 27 editions. This legacy of industry leadership ensures access to a robust database of international exhibitors, buyers, and industry partners, laying a strong foundation for the event’s success.

Alignment with China’s Belt and Road Initiative

Bakery ASEAN 2026 responds to the goals of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, which aims to promote co-development across industries—including bakery and confectionery—among ASEAN nations. This alignment strengthens regional collaboration and opens new avenues for cross-border trade.

Jakarta: A Strategic Hub for ASEAN Markets

Jakarta serves as the ideal gateway to ASEAN’s bakery markets. As Indonesia’s political, economic, and business center, it is also one of the most dynamic metropolises in the region. Boasting a large population base, a complete industrial chain, and a convenient transportation network, Jakarta has inherent advantages in radiating influence across the entire ASEAN market. Its internationalization and global influence have also grown steadily in recent years, further solidifying its role as a key regional hub.
