Bakery ASEAN: The 1st Edition Draws to a Successful Close as a Landmark Milestone

Held from August 27 to 29, 2026, the inaugural Bakery ASEAN concluded successfully at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) in Indonesia. Leveraging Bakery China’s nearly 30 years of profound expertise in the global bakery supply chain and extensive international resources, Bakery ASEAN is dedicated to building a high‑end international platform for business cooperation and industry exchange within the global bakery sector. Rooted deeply in the ASEAN region and connecting industrial markets along the Belt and Road, the exhibition has gained official recognition from core industry partners including the Indonesian Tourism Industry Association (GIPI), Indonesia Pastry Alliance (IPA), and Indonesian Hotel & Restaurant Suppliers Association (GPHRI), alongside numerous global industry institutions. Serving as a vital bridge, the platform not only facilitates Chinese bakery supply chain enterprises in upgrading from “product export” to “global brand layout”, but also fuels the industrial upgrading and high‑quality development of the bakery industry across Indonesia and the entire ASEAN region.

The debut exhibition gathered hundreds of exhibitors from China, Indonesia, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and other countries and regions, covering the full‑spectrum bakery supply chain. Its comprehensive display spanned raw materials, auxiliary ingredients, packaging solutions, intelligent production equipment and one‑stop retail operation solutions, fully showcasing the industry’s latest innovative products and cutting‑edge technologies. The event attracted nearly 10,000 professional buyers and industry practitioners from 42 countries and regions worldwide, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, India, Australia, Pakistan, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Participating audiences covered all core trade channels, including bakery manufacturers, distributors, trading companies, bakery chain brands, supermarkets, convenience stores, high‑end hotels and catering groups. The exhibition venue maintained a vibrant atmosphere throughout the event, with on‑site business negotiations, product tasting sessions and strategic cooperation signings taking place continuously, delivering fruitful trade and exchange results.

In parallel with the exhibition, Bakery ASEAN 2026 launched a rich lineup of high‑quality supporting programs. Co‑hosted by Bakery China, the Indonesian Hotel & Restaurant Suppliers Association (GPHRI) and BARECA Media, the industry summit focused on the development trends of the ASEAN bakery market and core strategies for localized business operation, conducting in‑depth analysis of investment opportunities and market potential in Indonesia’s bakery sector. Renowned bakery and pastry masters from China and Malaysia staged wonderful live skill demonstrations, presenting more than 30 trendy bakery and pastry works. A series of exciting industry competitions also drew wide audience attention, including the Indonesian Traditional Pastry & Fondant Cake Decoration Competition hosted by the Indonesia Pastry Alliance (IPA) and the 2026 World Mixologist Championship (Indonesia Qualifier). Integrating industry trend interpretation, technological application demonstration, product innovation display and global brand cooperation docking, the diverse activities effectively promoted the integrated development and innovative upgrading of the bakery industry among China, ASEAN countries and Belt and Road economies, and built an open, inclusive and mutually beneficial exchange ecosystem for the regional bakery industry.

The remarkable success of the inaugural Bakery ASEAN 2026 stems from the full trust and solid support of all participating exhibitors, who brought premium products and leading technologies from across the globe to the exhibition site. It also benefits from the active participation and sincere recognition of global professional buyers, whose on‑site visits, intentional cooperation and transaction orders have fully affirmed the strength of Chinese bakery enterprises and the high‑quality supply chain resources selected by Bakery China.

Bakery ASEAN will further consolidate its industrial layout in the ASEAN region and empower in‑depth cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. As a pivotal international business and exchange platform rooted in ASEAN and radiating across Belt and Road markets, the event will continue to integrate global high‑quality supply chain resources, assist Chinese bakery enterprises in expanding the Southeast Asian market, and drive the iterative upgrading and sustainable development of the bakery industry in Indonesia and the broader ASEAN region. Building on the outstanding achievements of its debut session, Bakery ASEAN will continuously advance industrial technological innovation and deepen cross‑regional industrial cooperation and partnership.
