SHANGHAI, CHINA, May 20, 2026 — The 28th China International Bakery Exhibition (Bakery China 2026) officially kicked off at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) Shanghai. Running for four days, the exhibition is co-organized by the China Association of Bakery & Confectionery Industry and Bakery China Exhibitions Co., Ltd. Under the official theme of “Innovate Beyond • Premiere Fusion • Link Future”, it showcases innovative achievements across the global bakery whole industrial chain, boosting the high-quality and globalization development of the bakery industry.

Expanded Scale Booms with Unprecedented Industry Momentum

Spanning 330,000 square meters, Bakery China 2026 gathers more than 2,200 renowned brands from over 70 countries and regions worldwide, presenting tens of thousands of innovative products. The exhibition hosts over 100 integrated activities including professional forums, skill competitions, new product launches and business matching sessions.

It is expected to attract nearly 400,000 professional visits from 130 countries and regions. Notably, overseas professional visitors surged over 60% year-on-year on the opening day, marking a remarkable rise in the exhibition’s global influence.

The opening ceremony gathered industry leaders, global bakery industry representatives, enterprise elites and mainstream media attendees. Zhang Jiukui, President of the China Association of Bakery & Confectionery Industry, stated that industrial innovation has evolved from single-point breakthroughs to systematic industrial restructuring.

He officially announced the brand’s overseas layout debut: Bakery ASEAN will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia from August 27 to 29, 2026, facilitating the transformation of Chinese bakery brands from product export to brand globalization.

Premiere Fusion Drives Innovation, Leading Industrial Trends Across Niche Tracks

As a core global debut and innovation hub for the bakery industry, Bakery China 2026 unveils thousands of annual innovative products covering raw materials, equipment, packaging, finished products and digital solution sectors. A series of flagship initiatives including the Bakery China Innovation Award, Innovation Talks and week-long New Product Release Campaign are held onsite.

The exhibition focuses on cutting-edge trends such as intelligent manufacturing, healthy baking, low-GI, food and medicine homology, and AI application, leading the industry’s innovative development.

For the first time, Chocolate China 2026 is held concurrently with the main exhibition. Covering 30,000 square meters, it assembles over 150 leading global chocolate enterprises, displaying the full value chain from cocoa raw materials and processing to finished products and supporting packaging and equipment.

Global Two-way Linkage Accelerates Industrial Internationalization

Bakery China 2026 reaches a new height in internationalization, with international exhibitors accounting for over 20% of all participants. Flagship national pavilions from major baking powers worldwide make a collective appearance.

The specially set Belt and Road Baking Zone highlights featured raw materials and craftsmanship from participating countries, showcasing the integrated innovation of Eastern and Western baking techniques.

The inaugural Bakery Go Global Forum is launched to guide enterprises’ overseas expansion, conducting in-depth discussions on international certification, supply chain adaptation, overseas channel construction and cross-cultural brand communication, providing systematic overseas development solutions for domestic bakery enterprises.

Diversified Empowerment Vitalizes Niche Market Segments

Building an immersive industrial ecosystem of “Exhibition + Forum + Competition + Showcase + Market + Festival”, the exhibition launches hundreds of diversified onsite activities.

For the first time, the national barista skill competition is officially included in the National Bakery Vocational Skills Competition, completing the national vocational evaluation system for baking talents.

Key niche tracks including supermarket bakery, prefabricated bakery, intelligent baking and healthy baking achieve comprehensive upgrading. Innovative products such as food-medicine homologous Chinese-style bakery, low-GI and low-calorie baked goods, and high-protein desserts become mainstream consumer favorites.
