Indonesian Traditional Pastry & Fondant Cake Decoration Competition @Bakery ASEAN 2026

Bakery ASEAN 2026, the first overseas flagship exhibition in Bakery China’s 28-year history, will be held from August 27 to 29 at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), co-organized by the China Association of Bakery & Confectionery Industry and Bakery China Exhibitions Co., Ltd..

The exhibition covers an area of 5,000 sqm, gathering 100 premium supply chain enterprises across the globe. It is expected to welcome 50,000 professional visitors on site.

Beyond over 1000 comprehensive exhibits, the show features a rich lineup of on-site activities. Among all highlight events, the Indonesian Traditional Pastry & Fondant Cake Decoration Competition will last three days during the show time.

Event Introduction

Indonesian Traditional Pastry & Fondant Cake Decoration Competition is co-organized by Bakery China and Indonesia Pastry Alliance (IPA), this three-day competition celebrates Indonesia's rich bakery and pastry heritage through traditional pastries, regional delicacies, and artistic fondant cake decoration.

Open to Indonesian MSMEs and culinary and hospitality students, the competition is judged by a panel of senior IPA pastry and baking experts. Winners receive certificates, medals and cash prizes; all participants receive a Certificate of Participation, and entries remain on display for tasting and exchange.

Three Competition Segments

• Day One : Baked Heritage: Taste of Nusantara Souvenirs (Oleh-Oleh) — contestants create innovative oven-baked pastries inspired by Indonesian flavors, indigenous ingredients or cultural heritage, using at least one local spice, fruit or ingredient;
• Day Two: Traditional Indonesian Cake Nusantara Buffet (Jajanan Pasar) — contestants build a buffet display of traditional market pastries, both sweet and savory, meeting professional foodservice presentation standards;
• Day Three: Dress the Cake: Tribute to the Chef — contestants craft fondant-decorated cakes honoring the passion, creativity and craft of baking professionals.
